A man who worked as a security guard at an east-side Detroit school is accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female student, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced on Monday.
Trevon Leviticus Ziglar, 23, of Detroit, is charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Worthy said the crime occurred at the school about 5 p.m. on a day in May 2024, but did not disclose further details.
Facts will be revealed in court, Worthy said in a Monday news release.
The school is located in the 6800 block of East Nevada Street, which is the address for Jefferson-Douglass Academy, a kindergarten through eighth grade charter school. Court records show that 36th District Judge Laura Echartea ordered Ziglar must make no contact with the victim, the academy or its students.
A message was left for the school's principal, who did not immediately respond to a Free Press request for comment.
Ziglar was arraigned on Sunday. His bond was denied, Worthy said.
An attorney for Ziglar wasn't listed in court records as of Monday afternoon.
